Market Days

Part of our grand plan is to be able to go to different farmers markets and craft festivials to sell our wares and make money along the way. Our first markets included just Inanna reading Tarot cards in Flordia. Now we have not only pack baskets that we made along the way but wind spinners! Because the baskets are a high dollar item at any farmers market we felt we needed another product to sell at the booth that was more in peoples price range at a farmers market so hence the spinners. These are great, simple , stainless and fun to watch. We got turned onto these in Mexico beach when we were parked at the RV resort for the month of November. The women across the way had a few outside on their RV and I remember being mezmorized just watching these things spin. One day Inanna chatted with these women who have been traveling the market circut for the past 5 years and one thing led to another and come to find out they offered us a wholesale option on buying some spinners! We jumped in and bought about $600 worth of spinners right there on the spot. It felt like another leap into the unknown but at the same time felt exciting and fortuitous. So last weekend we had our first 3 day market with baskets and spinners and Aura’s art cards. Nowa and Ivy made crystal bracelets to sell as well, it was a whole family affair. Needless to say the first 2 days it rained and the wind blew constant off the Gulf of Mexico so intense that in the middle of the night the huge big top circus tent we were set up under blew down ! Our little pop up tent was crushed and we didnt set up that day. The last day , Sunday, the weather cleared and lots of folks showed up all day long. We were given a new tent by the market manager to replace ours and business was boomin! We sold 2 baskets and just about all of our spinners except 3!! So it seems like the spinners might be just the product we needed. And to top it all off, the family next to us selling welded wrought iron yard art, blessed us with $100 cash because they said they had a good day and wanted to bless another family and they knew the weather had been hard on us! Wow, people never cease to amaze me. On to the next market!
