Sedona, Whispers in the night
I always wondered when I would ever get to Sedona. Being a dowser and being into all thiungs metaphysical I’ve come across the area of Sedona in my readings and videos over the years and have always been intrigued by the talk of it being one of the bigger energy vortex locations in North America. We found ourselves there after visiting Aunt Gayle and Uncle Bill in Prescot, AZ. After a lovely visit and lazy days soaking up the Arizona sun by their community pool, we headed out to the land of Sedona. Driving into Sedona the landscape turns into huge red rock formations that look surreal and inviting. kind of like a movieset from Star Wars or Dune. We drove downtown and quickly realized Sedona is NOT a place for a 40’ bus pulling a trailer! All the parking lots were small , no street parking and tons and tons of round-abouts that are way too small ! We did find a spot to park behind the Elks lodge for $35.00 a night. It was the best we could do in the moment so we took it for 3 mights. It was a no hook up site but the view was amazing. We paid for a booth a the local art market for 3 days to try and sell some baskets and some wind spinners. The weather was cool, windy and rainy, not the perfect recipie for selling our wares. The first day we did lousy not selling much and the wind kept Aura and I on our feet most of the time trying to hold down the tent. I did some research on the local vortex locations, there were at least 5 different ones or so that people visit but most of them we off limits to us because of the bus being to big to access the sites. I really wanted to dowse around a big , strong energy vortex and feel the energy with my rods but that would have to wait. There was one site , the “Airport Mesa” vortex that was super close to our parking spot, only half a mile away. So we decided to drive up the hill and pay the 6.00 parking fee and hike to the vortex. It was a beautiful sunset hike and we were running late so Inanna , Nowa and I hiked on to the vortex while Ivy and Aura stayed back and watched the sunset from the viewpoint. The vortex was up on a flat top mesa not very big , once we got up on top there were a few people mingling around taking photos. I checked with the rods to find the center of the vortex and there was a spot off to the side where my rods indicated the crossing of leys. I didnt notice a huge amount of energy there and it would of been nice to spend more time up there dowsing around and sitting quietly but darkness was falling quickly so we headed back to the bus. During our stay here in Sedona the second night I had a dream. In the dream a wispering voice told me to get up and get outside before the dawn. This dream was one that had my eyes open looking at the clock. It was 2:35 AM, the rain was gently falling .I laid there for a moment thinking about the dream, wondering if maybe it was a meassage from my spirtit guide giving me a mission! Maybe just maybe it was a test! Would I get out of bed in the cool rainy night and go explore Sedona?
Finally after a few minutes I warmed up to trhe idea and excitement pulled me from my warm cocoon of a sleeping bag. I dressed quietly in warm clothes and a raincoat and grabbed my dowsing rods. The night was quiet and still it was a cool feeling to see this vibrant town in the midst of slumber. I asked the rods to point the way. First they took me to a dead end road a few hundred yards away to a rock about the size of a footlocker. Then from there they pointed down the street into town so I just walked and tried to remain open and loose. I liked the night. There was one cop car way down the street with it s lights on but no sirens. I stopped in the middle of the street amd took in the town at 2:30 in the morning. No traffic, no people , only quiet and rain. I continued to follow the rods, trusting where I was supposed to go. The rain stopped and I started walking up a road that seemed like it lead into the surronding hillside. . I began to warm up a bit as the neighborhood slowly gave way to open desert and I could only make out the rods in front of me and the sandy path I was walking. I kept going up and up ,the blacktop ended in a cul de sac and the rods took me on to a trailhead. I began walking a path with cactus and scrub along the edges. Still I trusted the rods to show me where I might be needed to do some energy work or just to sit and take in the spot. Though secretly I was hoping the rods would take me into the dark night to a remote location where I would see bonfire light dancing off the cliffrock and a few people would be there and I would walk up upon them and they would say” welcome, so glad you found us, we’ve been waiting for you.” I probably walked another quarter mile in the desert before my rods left the path I was on and took me up a hillside through the brush to a random spot . My rods crossed in an “X” marks the spot motion and I knew this was the spot. Then without doing anything the rods began to spin, indicatiing a vortex of earth energy. Usually these places are crossings of two or more energy lines. One of my rods spun clockwise and the other counter-clockwise. They spun for a good minute or so that way then both opened up pointing in oposite directions. This I took as a sign for work complete. I stood there feeling moved and eneergized and curious as to what just happened. The overall sense was that some kind of “knot” or energy blockage was released and now the current of energy could flow again. Almost like a point in Chineese medicine on a persons meridian line that is poked with the needle and energy is relased. I asked if anything else was needed and I got a no response from the rods. Then I backed off the spot and dowsed to see if there was an energy line running here and there was . Right where I was standing was a vortex of earth energy so I said I little blessing and thanked the spirit of the place for allowing me to assist in that way. I headed back the way I came trusting the rods to take me back to the bus. I stopped one more time and looked around before reaching the blacktop road searching for a flicker of firelight in the blackness of the night…nope not this time . ..
