Full Circle

Well we have just about completed a complete loop around the U.S. . Back in the northwest again. This place always feels like home for some reason. Maybe because Inanna and I spent 6 plus years here going to school and living. This is where we started “practicing” for our off-grid lifestyle. Alot of my changes were here. This is where we did our first 10 day back pack trip to prepare for our Appalachian trail thru-hike. This is where we studied deep ecology and began to see the natural world with spiritual eyes. This is where I tried A.A. for the first time and decided to stop drinking using just my willpower and smoking cannabis. This is where we bought a 1971 Volkswagon bus and explored Cascadia. This is where we put up our first yurt and lived with wood heat for the first time…You get the idea. lots of memories here in this land for us and to be back , especially when the skies are blue , feels so welcoming and familiar.

Our first festival in a while in Sedro Wooley was great. We sold lots of spinners and finally one basket. It was a 3 day outdoor fest and we did great, made some cash to buy groceries and put some back into the savings wallet. Realizing that the baskets we create need a different market , they just dont sell at street fair’s or farmers markets or flea markets . We need a market that is dedicated to higher end crafts and folk art. So we’ll keep looking, we are getting good feedback on them but most folks dont really know what they would use it for.

Now that we have gone around the country not to sure what to do next. So were gonna sit still for a while but we need to find a place to park Dreamweaver and have access to a market. Inanna wants to get her website launched and have a regular place to read tarot. I want to keep going to market and sell spinners and spend some time working on the bus as the “to fix” list keeps growing. Ivy needs a soccer league to play in. Aura needs a dance class or art studio and Nowa well he needs more exercise cause his testosterone level is through the roof ! So the feeling is to find a spot here in Washington for a couple months to get all these needs met. We have decided to go to Oregon Country Fair in July and meet some friends there for a long weekend. The fair is a long standing reunion of hippies and artists that come together for a weekend every summer for the past 50 years at least. We went a couple of times years ago before we had kids and we always said “someday when we have kids we have to bring them here”, so we are excited to for them to see this event .

In the meantime we’ll be around this neck of the woods, summer in the northwest, feeling grateful.
